SOLINK is looking for a Junior Project Engineer with a passion for renewable energy to join our team in Sandton, Johannesburg.

SOLINK is a specialised renewable energy facilitator that assists companies in taking renewable energy and storage projects from feasibility to commissioning. SOLINK has extensive knowledge of all the major suppliers in the market, the latest technologies, current legislation, and legal requirements, as well as system construction and fi nancing costs.
SOLINK assesses the solar PV & battery business case, runs the procurement process, manages the legal contracts required to appoint suppliers, oversees the project construction, and once constructed independently monitors a system’s performance to ensure optimal outputs in line with the agreed energy guarantees.
SOLINK is a dynamic and young company with large ambitions to have a positive impact on the renewable energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. This role provides the candidate an opportunity to fulfi l a role in a rapidly growing company with large potential.
What you will be doing:
Management of renewable energy project feasibility analyses across multiple sites, including:
- Understanding site conditions and information gathering
- Assisting with determining the best energy solution for Client’s needs
- Engaging with the Clients to understand the requirements and objectives
- Business case assessments through financial and yield modelling
- Design and system sizing of solar PV and battery projects
- Project permitting (SSEGs etc) and technical due diligence
- Reporting and client engagement
- Greenfield solar PV and battery project development
- Stay on the forefront of market movements; proposing new strategies to establish energy users
Assistance with managing tender process:
- Assisting with development of tender documentation
- Liaising with EPCs/ IPP’s on tender requirements
- Assisting with tender adjudication and reporting
- Interface with SOLINK Construction Management and operations departments

Qualification & Skill Requirements:
Required
- Technical qualification (Bsc Eng – Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronic)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in project management / project engineering in the solar PV renewable energy industry
Beneficial
- MSc Engineering Degree (or similar)
- At least one year of experience of Autocad LT exposure
- Electrical engineering background or experience
- Design experience for solar PV projects
- Experience with google workplace (docs, sheets, slides)
Physical Requirements:
- Own Transport and drivers licence
- Reside in Johannesburg or the immediate surrounds
Remuneration:
Market related. Final offer in line with Candidate experience and qualifications.
